How to install Storiara as an app on your phone

Add Storiara to your phone's home screen or install it from a desktop browser so it opens like an app. There is no App Store or Google Play version.

Storiara runs in the browser, and you can install it so it opens full screen from an icon, without browser tabs and address bars. There's no separate App Store or Google Play app; installing adds the web app to your device.

On an iPhone or iPad

Storiara shows a sheet titled Add Storiara to Home Screen the first time you open it on a phone. Its steps are for Safari:

  1. Open Storiara in Safari and sign in.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow) at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add in the top right.

On an Android phone

  1. Open Storiara in your browser and sign in.
  2. Tap the menu icon (three dots).
  3. Choose Add to Home screen or Install app, depending on the browser.
  4. Tap Add or Install to confirm.

On a computer, look for the install option in your browser's menu or address bar.

What the phone version does

On a small screen Storiara switches to a mobile layout with tabs along the bottom: Scenes, Schedule, Today, Assets, and Sheets, with everything else under More. Every page renders and is editable there, so a coordinator can fix a call time from the van. A collaborator with Crew (view) access gets Schedule, Sheets, and Crew view instead.

The On set Today tab and the daily production report are built to work with no signal: edits are written field by field and sync when the phone finds the network, and the header says while it's holding them. A crew member's own call sheet link keeps its last copy too. Continuity photo uploads are the exception and need a connection.

Crew who only need the day's sheet don't need to install anything. The personal link they get when you send a call sheet opens in any phone browser, and so does a shared call sheet link.

If it doesn't work

  • Tapped Maybe Later and the sheet never came back? It stays dismissed on that device. Follow the steps above from the browser menu.
  • No Add to Home Screen on iPhone: you may be in a browser that hides it. Open the page in Safari.
  • A page that needs the network shows an offline state. Check Wi-Fi or mobile data, then reopen it. Anything you typed on the Today tab or the report is kept and sent when you reconnect.

The Getting Started guide walks through the desktop workspace.
